“Change your brain waves, change your life”, so says Dr. James V. Hardt. He is the founder and president of the Biocybernaut Institute where trainees explore their alpha waves for self discovery.
The Biocybernaut Institute offers biofeedback training in alpha and theta brain waves. Trainees learn how to change their brain waves at will. They also travel inside their minds, and with the help of the Biocybernaut testing and coaching, resolve trauma from earlier in their lives. Side effects include measurable increases in creativity, IQ, forgiveness, and central nervous system functioning among others.
Dr. Hardt is himself an example of such change. He tells how, as a physicist and fundamentalist protestant he began exploring biofeedback. He found that he couldn’t fit in those “boxes” anymore. He went on to attain degrees in psychology, did post graduate work in psychophysiology, and began studying the brain waves of meditating monks. He has authored over 60 papers for scientific journals and presentations. And he has created and patented the technology used at Biocybernaut Institute.
There are three locations of the Biocybernaut Institute: in the United States, Canada and Germany. Trainees are immersed in alpha wave training for 7 days, approximately 12 hours per day. Dr. Hardt states that this 7 day training takes trainees to the same level achieved by Zen meditators over a period of 20 to 40 years.
Trainings are done in groups of 5 with each participant in an individual feedback chamber. Afterwards they assemble together with the trainer who talks with each participant about their experience in the chamber. The computer analyzes the trainees’ mood changes which leads them to becoming aware of emotions below their normal conscious awareness.
In the following video Dr. Hardt explains that individuals who undergo the Biocybernaut training take their new perspectives back to their families and communities. In particular he refers to the aboriginal program in Canada for a population which he describes as highly traumatized. He declares happily that “higher consciousness is contagious!”.
What an interesting post! I like to meditate and I know it changes the brain and I must learn more about this. Thank you for posting!
You are welcome! There is much more. Stay tuned!
Interesting article. I have a bio-feedback machine and use binaural beats in some meditations, does Dr Hardt use these?
Love that you work with cat rescue btw! 🙂
My research didn’t tell me what frequencies Dr Hardt uses and since his technology is patented they could be very individual to his work. Isochronic tones which don’t require headphones are often used now instead of binaural beats which do require headphones. Since I often use frequencies with my cats, I opt for the isochronic. But it’s great that you combine frequencies with your meditation. I expect they enhance it?
